The Lego Star Wars Set 7753, Pirate Tank, is part of the Clone Wars series of sets released in 2009.The set is a vehicle featured in the Clone Wars TV series episode Dooku Captured where a gang of pirates lead by Hondo Ohnaka captured Count Dooku and took him to their hideout on the planet Florrum. The Pirate Tank Lego set is a Special Edition, which means it is only available online at Lego Shop At Home and select speciality stores. It comes with 372 pieces, 3 mini-figures and retails for $39.99.The mini-figures include Obi-Wan Kenobi in the same gear as in the Republic Attack Gunship (7676) and the new figures of pirates Hondo Ohnaka and Turk Falso who both have detailed printing on the rear of their head pieces. It is a good cross section of figures and a relatively cheap way to purchase Obi Wan in Clone Wars gear and two exclusive and highly detailed figures. The tank vehicle Tank measures 9' inches (24.1cm) long and 6 inches (15.2cm) wide.It has wheels underneath to move it along the ground. The canon swivels easily and a mini-figure can be placed in the canon chair, while flick fire missiles sit in the front and back of the vehicle. There is also a mechanism that pops open an area in the top of the tank to house either a driver or a prisoner. It is a good looking set, quite an unusual design for a tank with a long thin shape instead of the regular short and wide design, and the tank could double as a flying space ship if you are not worried about breaking Star Wars canon. The set contains stickers which is a shame because the pieces and colors are quite nice and would have been impressive pieces without stickers.Overall a good set with some nice screen-accurate figures and a sleek, well designed vehicle.

Lego 2010 Review - Lego Collectible Minifigures Series 1
A major part of playing with or collecting Lego has been the fun minifigure designs.Whether they are representations of characters we know from books or films, fantastical figures of Lego's imagining from space and beyond or small plastic versions of regular people throughout history and the contemporary world, the minifig has always symbolised Lego's fun and playable style. In 2010 Lego is taking this love for their little people and is releasing a series of single minifigures designed to be sold as stand-alone and collectible pieces. The first wave of the Lego Collectible Minifigures, released in May 2010, included 16 figures that come with a range of different looks and accessories. They are limited edition pieces that will be phased out of production after a time and with their unique designs and low price point are designed to be swapped and traded amongst fans and will no doubt demand high prices on the secondary market. They are offered for sale in small opaque plastic bags and it is not possible to determine what is contained inside. All of this of course increases Lego's brand awareness and reputation worldwide. The first wave of figures include a Demolition Dummy, Forest man, Cowboy, Super Wrestler, Zombie, Ninja, Cheerleader, Skater, Tribal Hunter, Circus Clown, Magician, Deep Sea Diver, Robot, Nurse, Caveman or Spaceman. They are all highly distinctive and a lot of fun.Early polls online indicate that fans are favouring the Cheer Leader, Forestman and the Zombie as highlights of this wave.If you are wondering whether this is just a rehash of old figures keep in mind that the vast majority of the body parts (hair, torso, legs, heads) and accessories (syringes, trumpet, pom poms, etc) are brand new. That is they have never been used for sets before and given the limited nature of these figures, chances are they may not be used in the future. For young and adult fans this means that they can now create caveman scenes for the first time or recreate the zombie scenes from "Shaun Of The Dead" or "28 Days" with authentic Lego body bits.At $2 per figure it is such an accessible way for fans to expand their Lego collection in a satisfyingly fun and highly addictive way.

Lego Star Wars Review - Set 7675 - AT-TE Walker
The Star Wars Lego set 7675, the AT-TE walker is the second time Lego has produced this particular star Wars vehicle. The first version, set 4482, came out in 2003 a year after the release of Star Wars Episode Two Attack Of The Clones. It is featured in that movie and in the Star Wars Clone Wars television series, from which this latest Lego incarnation of the vehicle has been taken. The All Terrain Tactical Enforcer is a walker that was developed to support the Grand Army of the republic and became the precursor to later walkers including the AT-AT.Lego's version of the walker is impressive and comes with a STAP vehicle that the separatist battle droids rode in the Clone Wars movie to battle AT-TE walkers on Teth. The walker model measures 15' 1/2" (39cm) long and 8" (20cm) high and playable features include positionable legs that spring back to position, movable cannons, firing missiles, armored hatches and cockpit that open to reveal the cabin and troop bay inside. The top panels lift up and troopers can sit inside while the cockpit can be opened to place in a single figure.Another gunner can sit on the top to rotate the cannon and behind him there is a small handle that can be used to pick up the vehicle or attach it to the Dropship (set 10195).The minifigures include Anakin Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka Tano, Jabba The Hutt's son Rotta, Clone Captain Rex, a regular clone and a battle droid. The Commander Rex is exclusive and has not appeared in a set since. While not quite as playable as the Republic Gunship it has a lot of character and young fans will enjoy replicating the scenes from the TV series. It looks good as a display model and will fit well into battle scenes and dioramas.

Building Your Own Millennium Falcon
With 1,254 LEGO pieces, the Millennium Falcon took more than four hours for our testers to construct. Split between two adult builders, these hours provided a fun time to reminisce about favorite Star Wars moments.
A large percentage of the pieces come in shades of gray, and approaching construction requires a bit of organization and discipline. Detailed step-by-step instructions help ensure that construction is a relatively straightforward process, despite the complexity of the finished model.
As impressive as the finished model may be, our testers noted a few minor oversights worth mentioning. For starters, there are no mini-figures of C-3PO or R2D2 included, making the scene reconstruction feel incomplete. Also, only Han Solo and Chewbacca are capable of fitting in the cockpit. However, considering the amount of overall detail included in this model, any Star Wars fan would be delighted to proudly put it on display.

I'm a huge fan of the original trilogy and lego so have been wanting to get a Millennium Falcon set for several years. Unfortunately I found most of them either far to expensive, or simply not worth the asking price. This one finally hit the sweet spot for me. For $139.99 (or cheaper if you buy it on Amazon or find it on sale) you get six minifigures and a 1200+ piece model that is nearly perfect. The first thing that I truly love is that the set is pretty much in scale so that you can place all the figures in familiar settings inside the ship. The roof of the Falcon is made up of folding panels that can be opened to reveal most of the interior of the ship. They've included the table where they played virtual chess, Luke's training droid, as well as control panels and beds. The cockpit is a separate section but still fits a figure (I've got Han on pilot duty naturally), and they even managed to work in the dual seat gunners pod and... He got it for his birthday and took him more than 5 hours to build, and he wouldn't let us take it apart to rebuild! It is impressive! The details on the outside is just like the movie. The fold out panels open the reveal the inside where the minifigs can act out the movie scenes. The size of the Falcon is just right to fly around, not too heavy or bulky, and is actually quite sturdy compared to other Lego sets.Absolutely stunning set. This is the one set that I really want this year. My parents say it is okay priced and we can get it for Christmas! Now only 4 months to go! 16 of 18 people found the following review helpful = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon 7965 (Toy) I saw that Lego had some new Star Wars sets out and got really excited. I didn't have a gift for my husband's birthday that was two days away. Ordered it using Amazon Prime, and got it here the next day. I usually like to rack up points on my lego card, but couldn't wait. Plus I got it at a lower price. So, the durability of this item when put together really surprised both my husband and myself. You can actually play with it and not worry about it falling apart, like some other sets. It's a great size and lots of neat areas for play. Definitely worth the price! |
